Position Overview:
Dimer Health is seeking a skilled and mission-driven Data Engineer to join our growing AI & Data Science team. In this role, you’ll play a pivotal part in building the data infrastructure that drives our predictive care models, analytics, and patient engagement tools.
This is a part-time remote role with flexibility and the opportunity to expand into a full-time position as the company scales. You’ll collaborate closely with clinical, product, and engineering teams to define our data roadmap and build scalable, compliant, and insightful systems from the ground up. Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain secure, scalable, and HIPAA-compliant data storage systems
- Design and implement data pipelines and ETL processes to support analytics, reporting, and ML workflows
- Develop dashboards and reporting infrastructure to support internal teams and external partners
- Enable self-service analytics for clinicians and analysts through curated datasets and tools like Looker, Tableau
- Collaborate cross-functionally to understand clinical and operational data needs and translate them into scalable solutions
- Help shape the company’s data strategy — from collection to governance and integration with EHR systems
QUALIFICATIONS:
Technical Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience
- 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar data infrastructure role
- Proficiency in SQL and Python (or another general-purpose data programming language)
- Experience with modern data stack tools (e.g., dbt, Airflow, Fivetran, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift)
- Familiarity with cloud data infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Understanding of HIPAA and best practices for building compliant healthcare data systems
- Experience working with semi-structured healthcare data formats (e.g., FHIR, CDA, HL7, JSON)
- Experience developing reporting tools and dashboards (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Mode)
- Preferred: Experience working with FHIR APIs, Medplum, or EHR systems such as AthenaHealth or Epic
