About Dimer Health

Dimer Health is a trailblazing digital health company revolutionizing transitional care. By combining cutting-edge software with clinical delivery, we are reimagining the patient journey and addressing critical gaps in care during the transition from hospital to home. Our focus is on predictive, proactive care models that reduce readmissions, improve outcomes, and enhance patient satisfaction. Our mission is to give people healthier time back in their lives, setting a new standard for healthcare delivery.

Position Overview:

Dimer Health is seeking a skilled and mission-driven Data Engineer to join our growing AI & Data Science team. In this role, you’ll play a pivotal part in building the data infrastructure that drives our predictive care models, analytics, and patient engagement tools.

This is a part-time remote role with flexibility and the opportunity to expand into a full-time position as the company scales. You’ll collaborate closely with clinical, product, and engineering teams to define our data roadmap and build scalable, compliant, and insightful systems from the ground up. Your work will directly impact patients across the U.S. Join us and be part of a purpose-driven team combining advanced technology and compassionate care to transform healthcare for the better.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain secure, scalable, and HIPAA-compliant data storage systems
  • Design and implement data pipelines and ETL processes to support analytics, reporting, and ML workflows
  • Develop dashboards and reporting infrastructure to support internal teams and external partners
  • Enable self-service analytics for clinicians and analysts through curated datasets and tools like Looker, Tableau
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to understand clinical and operational data needs and translate them into scalable solutions
  • Help shape the company’s data strategy — from collection to governance and integration with EHR systems

QUALIFICATIONS:

Technical Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience
  • 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar data infrastructure role
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python (or another general-purpose data programming language)
  • Experience with modern data stack tools (e.g., dbt, Airflow, Fivetran, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift)
  • Familiarity with cloud data infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Understanding of HIPAA and best practices for building compliant healthcare data systems
  • Experience working with semi-structured healthcare data formats (e.g., FHIR, CDA, HL7, JSON)
  • Experience developing reporting tools and dashboards (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Mode)
  • Preferred: Experience working with FHIR APIs, Medplum, or EHR systems such as AthenaHealth or Epic

Soft Skills & Traits

  • Deeply mission-driven, with a desire to improve patient outcomes through technology
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, early-stage environments with ambiguity and evolving priorities
  • Communicative and collaborative across technical and clinical stakeholders
  • Self-motivated and resourceful — able to take initiative and drive projects forward

WHAT WE OFFER:

  • Remote flexibility
  • PTO
  • Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA): We reimburse you for eligible medical, dental, or vision expenses, including your own health insurance, up to a set amount each month
  • Mission-driven, collaborative culture
  • Make a real impact in shaping the future of virtual transitional care
