Behind the Screens: Meet Layla Tadros, RN

At Dimer Health, transitional care is embodied by our relationships with patients during one of the most vulnerable moments in their healthcare journey. Our Behind the Screens series highlights the clinicians who bring empathy, consistency, and patient-first values to every interaction.
This week, we’re spotlighting Layla Tadros, RN, whose path through healthcare, from patient representative to registered nurse, has been shaped by a deep respect for trust, advocacy, and continuity of care.
A Foundation Built on the Patient Experience
Layla’s healthcare journey began at Advocare Ent of Morristown, working as a patient representative - a position that taught her the fundamentals of patient communication, empathy, and service.
“That’s where I learned how important it is to treat patients, not just process them,” she shared.
From there, Layla moved through a wide range of roles: administrative assistant, surgical scheduling, and surgical coordinating. Each step deepened her understanding of how fragmented healthcare can feel for patients, especially during transitions.
Eventually, she decided to formalize that calling.
“I went to nursing school and started as an LPN before earning my RN,” she said. “Now I work at a rehab facility alongside my role at Dimer Health.”
That layered experience - clinical, administrative, and operational - gives Layla a uniquely holistic view of the patient journey.
💡 What inspired you to join Dimer Health?
Layla’s interest in Dimer Health was sparked when she first learned about the transitional care role.
“I saw such a need for case management, for someone to really help patients navigate what comes next.”
What stood out most wasn’t just the model, it was the values.
“Dimer consistently puts patients first,” Layla said. “That hasn’t changed over time, and that matters to me. I’ve seen places where priorities shift, but here, the focus on the patient has stayed strong.”
🏡 What do you enjoy most about providing virtual care?
For Layla, virtual care removes barriers, especially for older adults and patients recovering from major events.
“So many patients can’t easily get to appointments. Virtual care eliminates that stress, especially for the older population. They can stay home and still feel supported.”
She sees Dimer’s model as a bridge connecting patients to care when they might otherwise fall through the cracks.
“This is where transitional care really matters. Patients don’t feel abandoned once they leave a facility. Someone is still checking in, still advocating for them.”
Do you have a patient case that stayed with you?
One interaction, in particular, left a lasting impression.
Layla worked closely with a post-CVA (stroke) patient who had recently gone through a divorce and was navigating recovery largely on his own.
“He leaned on the support heavily, and I was happy to be there,” she shared. “Trust is everything. When patients feel supported, they’re more willing to engage, ask questions, and take ownership of their recovery.”
❤️ Why did you choose nursing?
Layla’s decision to become a nurse was deeply personal.
During her son’s delivery, she experienced care from OB/GYN nurses who left a lasting impression.
“They were non-judgmental and patient-centered. They didn’t know me, but they made me feel cared for and safe.”
That experience clarified what kind of clinician she wanted to be.
“It showed me how powerful it is to center care around the person, not assumptions, not labels.”
Life Beyond the Screen
Outside of healthcare, Layla is energized by learning and creativity.
If she weren’t in nursing, she says she’d likely be a teacher.
“I love being welcoming and sharing knowledge. Teaching feels very aligned with who I am.”
She also enjoys baking, which she describes as both relaxing and rewarding.
How do you recharge?
Layla thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys feeling needed, but she’s also learning to create balance.
“I’ve recently gotten more into reading, it helps me reset and grow.”
