Meet William Greenhut, DO, MPH
Dimer Health Physician
Dr. Will Greenhut is an Emergency Medicine physician and clinical innovator whose career has been shaped by more than a decade in the ER and driven by his commitment to solving one of healthcare’s most overlooked gaps: what happens once patients go home.
💡 What inspired you to join Dimer Health?
For Dr. Greenhut, the decision to join Dimer Health was rooted in years of firsthand experience in emergency medicine and a desire to build scalable solutions.
“After 13 years in the ER - and leading a community hospital’s ED - I saw patients bounce back simply because they didn’t understand their discharge plan, couldn’t access follow-up care, or weren’t sure what was normal.
Dimer solves for that. 24/7 virtual transitional care, right when patients need it most. It’s the scalable solution I’d been searching for.”
🏡 What do you enjoy most about providing virtual care?
Dr. Greenhut is energized by how virtual care aligns with modern expectations for real-time access, while also removing barriers to care.
“Patients live in a world of real-time access - rides, food, communication. Why should healthcare be any different?
With Dimer, patients don’t wait weeks or rely on Facebook groups for answers. They connect with a licensed provider, right from home. That’s powerful.”
🩺 How would you describe the value of Dimer’s model?
When it comes to the impact of Dimer’s approach, Will sees its value clearly for both patients and providers.
“For patients: It’s the care they didn’t know they needed. We clarify plans, catch complications early, and provide reassurance within days of discharge.
For providers: We’re an extension of their team - answering urgent questions, flagging concerns, and reinforcing their care with seamless documentation.”
🧏 Is there a patient story that’s stayed with you?
Several meaningful patient encounters have reinforced why Will believes so deeply in Dimer Health’s mission.
“One that really stuck with me was a 58-year-old man recovering from a biopsy. He noticed bleeding and thought about returning to the ER. Instead, he reached out to Dimer. I guided him virtually, monitored symptoms, and the bleeding resolved - no stressful ER trip.
Another time, I cared for a hearing-impaired mother with two sick kids, one with autism. Using a virtual sign language interpreter, we treated her son and supported her. That’s care without barriers.”
❤️ Why did you choose medicine?
Will’s path to medicine began in emergency response, and his passion has only grown as he’s moved from patient care to system-level innovation.
“I started as an EMT and quickly fell in love with medicine. Emergency medicine was the perfect fit — problem-solving, variety, and impact every day.
Now, I’m passionate about building care models beyond hospital walls, and even pursuing AI certifications to shape the tools that will support patients in the future.”
What do you love most about your profession?
For Will, the true reward lies in the tangible impact of his work - both in the ER and now in virtual transitional care.
“It’s the impact. Whether delivering a baby, easing end-of-life care, or preventing an unnecessary ER visit - I get to make a difference every day. And now, through Dimer, that difference is scalable.”
🛳️ Outside of Work
Beyond medicine, Will values time with his family, coaching his kids’ sports teams, and traveling - especially on cruises.
He also enjoys hands-on projects, from building a backyard treehouse to raising chickens, a pandemic hobby turned lifestyle that now provides fresh eggs daily. 🐔
